For us, sustainability is a broad concept that includes the environment, health, quality, economy as well as social aspects that should be present in the entire value chain, from forest to home.

With every purchase, we make sure that all the wood in our boards comes from responsibly sustainable forestry. We are proud that more than 99% of our volume of wood-based boards are delivered with traceability certification for sustainable forestry.

We place high demands on our suppliers, both in terms of quality and sustainability. Our Code of Conduct is the basis for all our collaborations. Not everyone may become a supplier to us, our established sustainability criteria must be met. As a result, we can contribute to non-toxic, responsible and sustainable construction.

A large part of our building boards arrives by boat. Previously, the boats entered the port of Stockholm for further transport to our facilities in Rosersberg by truck. Today, we have redirected the ships to the port of Gävle, from where the boards are transported to us by train. The result is greener transports and more efficient handling.

We try in every way to adapt our business to become even more sustainable. Our own facilities are powered 100% by renewable energy in the form of hydropower. Additionally, we have been using electric trucks in our warehouse for several years, and are constantly working to minimize our waste. Our customers are located all over our country and therefore it is of great importance for us to coordinate and streamline our transports. Nowadays, for example, most of our long-distance transports go to Norrland by train instead of by car.

Our competent board-coaches help and educate the employees in the construction trade in order to make smart choices for each construction, from an ergonomic, economic and sustainable perspective. In our own building board school BOA Constructor, we teach how to make ideal product choices in all situations. For the employees in the construction trade, we have also developed a basic e-learning course about our product range.

CONSCIOUS MATERIAL CHOICE

The content of our boards is assessed using a strict criteria and are registered in recognized environmental databases to make it easier for customers to make sustainable material choices. Our own pictogram, Miljömärkning (Ecolabelling), means that the product is included in one or more of the industry’s environmental databases: BASTA, SundaHus and Byggvarubedömningen. For those of you who are planning projects in accordance with The Nordic Swan Eco Label (Svanen), we also offer listed products in their construction portal.

Of course, our sustainable point of view also includes the craftsmen. As an example, we have driven the development towards more ergonomic alternatives of boards.

EASY-TO-USE BOARDS

The boards have become lighter and easier to assemble, the working steps fewer and the assembly time shorter.

The boards will then have a life on site, at home or at the office. It must be healthy to live around them. They must not emit any harmful or foreign substances, either now or in the future. The fact that the raw material in the boards comes from certified sustainable forestry also contributes to the value. Our boards should simply contribute to a better living environment.

Sustainability includes the product’s entire life cycle, including recycling when the board is removed from its original purpose. Therefore, we also strive for a high recycling and reuse rate. We know the exact content of the boards and that makes post-use easier and the boards can be part of the circular process.
